Moving to new jewellery software without losing a gram.
The worry with changing software is the data: party balances, fine metal, every tag in stock, open karigar work. Here is how a careful move works, and how SeeJewel checks it against your old software’s own totals before anything goes live.
How do I move my data from Gati or another jewellery software?
Export each list from the old software (parties with balances, metal stock, tag-wise stock, stones, open orders), upload them, match the columns, check every row, and compare the totals with the old software’s reports before importing. SeeJewel does this in one migration project and refuses to import while a balance or weight does not match.
What to look for, and why it matters.
Moving from Gati, Tally or Excel
Export what the old software already prints
Gati, Tally, Jwero and Zoho all export their lists and reports to Excel. A copied report grid works too. Nothing needs a technician at the shop.
- Party balances in rupees and fine metal
- Tag-wise stock with gross, net and stone weight
- Metal and stone stock
- Open orders and karigar work
Check before you import
Every row is checked first: missing names, wrong numbers, duplicate tags, unknown stores. Then you type the totals from the old software’s reports and SeeJewel compares them: counts exact, weights to 0.01 g, money to the rupee.
Cut over on a date
Choose a day, stop entries in the old software at closing, import, and keep the old software read-only for look-ups. Anything entered after the export goes in as a small second file.
Nothing thrown away
Columns and sheets that do not fit a SeeJewel list are kept in a searchable archive with the original cells, so old details are never lost. A whole migration can be undone if a file was wrong.

How much time would your team get back?
Two numbers from your shop. Move them to match yours.
Assumes SeeJewel removes about four-fifths of the typing, copying and looking-up on each job. A planning estimate, not a measurement.

What jewellers ask.
Can I move from Gati SJE Plus to SeeJewel?
Yes. Export the masters, party balances, stock tags and open orders from Gati to Excel (or copy the report grid), upload them in a SeeJewel migration project, and compare the totals before importing.
How do I know the balances came across correctly?
You type the totals from the old software’s reports. SeeJewel compares them with the files and again after import; approval is refused while a critical balance, weight or tag count does not match.
Will my product photos come across?
Yes, when the export has a photo link for each piece. SeeJewel copies the photo onto the piece during import.
What if a file was wrong?
Undo the whole migration project, fix the file and import again. Pressing import twice never doubles anything.
Can the SeeJewel team do it for me?
Yes. Send the exports or a backup from the migration page and the team does the move with you.
