Jewellery billing software with GST and today’s gold rate.
A jewellery bill is not a grocery bill. It has weight, purity, making, wastage, stones, HUID, old gold and GST, and the rate changes every morning. Here is what good billing software does with all of it, and how SeeJewel does it.
What is jewellery billing software?
Software that prices each piece from its weight, purity and today’s rate, adds making, wastage and stones, takes old gold in exchange, splits GST into CGST and SGST or IGST, and prints a numbered tax invoice. Good billing software also updates stock, the customer’s record and your books from the same bill, so nothing is typed twice.
What to look for, and why it matters.
Jewellery billing software
Price from the rate, not from a tag
When the gold rate moves, a printed price is wrong. Billing software should read today’s rate and work the price out at the counter, showing the customer the break-up.
- Metal value from net weight × purity × rate
- Making as a percentage, per gram or fixed
- Stones and certification added separately
- GST at 3% on the total, 5% on making where it applies
Old gold on the same bill
Most bills in an Indian jewellery shop include an exchange. The old piece’s weight, purity after testing and the deduction should sit on the same invoice and reduce the amount due.
One bill, everything updated
The bill should take the piece out of stock, add the sale to the day’s cash and UPI, post to the ledger and remember the customer’s purchase and occasion. That is where most shops lose time: typing the same bill into three places.

Two numbers from your shop. Move them to match yours.

What jewellers ask.
How is the price of a gold piece calculated on a bill?
Net weight × purity factor (0.916 for 22K) × today’s rate gives the metal value. Making and wastage are added as your shop charges them, then stones, then GST at 3%. SeeJewel shows this break-up on the bill.
Can jewellery billing software handle old gold exchange?
SeeJewel does: the old piece’s weight, tested purity and deduction go on the same invoice and reduce the balance. If the old gold is worth more than the new piece, the amount owed to the customer is shown.
Does it work with Tally?
Yes. SeeJewel keeps its own GST-ready books and can bring your Tally masters and ledgers in, so your accountant can keep working the way they do.
What happens if I cancel a bill?
SeeJewel issues a numbered credit note, books each payment back as a refund and returns the pieces to stock.
